Feedback on this presentation was universally positive, with great learnings and insights, significant knowledge transfer, and a well paced and interactive engagement in which Jim's deep expertise was paired with excellent communication skills.
In a tightly knit presentation, Jim walked the IISF members & guests through Large Language Models (LLMs) and the vulnerabilities they face. Starting with LLM fundamentals—including GPT, Bayes Theorem, Supervised Fine-Tuning, and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF)— Jim explained how these models are trained to communicate, be
helpful and behave ethically.
Jim then showed some common attack LLM vectors and outlined practical approaches for detecting, mitigating, and responding to threats.
There followed a lively & interactive Q & A session.
This is sure to be one presentation that IISF members will be watching back again, and recommending to their peers & colleagues, for the essential knowledge to understand LLM risks and improve their security and resilience.
